These watercolors are 100% self expression. Often observational, the images get layered with things happening in my life or in the world. I use animal and human imagery interchangeably or sometimes I combine attributes of both. I return to themes of concern for the natural world and the rapid pace in which the world is turning away from the sensual to the digital. For me, the magic happens in the sliver of a Venn diagram where my life and the experiences and imagination of the viewer intersect and a third, wonderful meaning is born.
